Winners to be Recognized at December 6 New York Gala

NEW YORK (September 24, 2018) – Energy companies from 37 countries have been selected as finalists for the S&P Global Platts Global Energy Awards. The 2018 finalists were announced today by program host S&P Global Platts, the leading global provider of energy and commodities information and spot market benchmarks.

AutoGrid is proud to be named an emerging technology finalist in this year’s award ceremony. Its predictive maintenance technology uses predictive controls, artificial intelligence and machine learning to monitor and predict grid outages. The technology monitors the grid in real time to catch equipment-related failures before they occur. To date, energy companies deploying the AutoGrid predictive maintenance technology have been able to accurately predict and move to mitigate 2.4 million customer minutes interrupted (CMI).

Established in 1999 and often described as “the Oscars of the energy industry,” Global Energy Awards highlight corporate and individual innovation, leadership and superior performance in 19 categories that span the entire energy complex.

AutoGrid predictive maintenance technology is designed explicitly for energy distribution systems rather than being adapted from a generic software application. This pure-play application utilizes focused data monitoring and analysis to predict potential grid malfunctions before they become problematic. The AutoGrid Predictive Maintenance application is easy and inexpensive to integrate, requires no maintenance and learned from historical data to instantly begins preventing outages, saving money and lowering costs.

Founded in 1909, S&P Global Platts is the commodities information arm of S&P Global and a premier source of benchmark price references, with news, data and information coverage spanning biofuels, carbon emissions, coal, electricity, oil, natural gas, metals, nuclear power, petrochemicals, shipping and sugar.
